Lotus Pod

Been a busy few days and somehow managed to miss the Lotus blooming, I did however manage to get this picture of the seed pod. There is another bud getting ready to open so I'll be sure to get some shots of that.

I made a softbox for my flash recently (instructions in another post) and I'm very pleased with the even soft light that it produces.

Not sure what caused the glowing rings around each of the "pods", my guess would be the surface is slightly more reflective than the surrounding green area. Needless to say it's a cool effect.

Lotus

No not the sportscar, although one of those would be nice too! Picked up a Lotus plant for the pond this weekend, I hope it enjoys its new home. They are beautiful, with the most amazing blooms, almost surreal looking. Even the leaves are interesting, with their waxy coating causing any water to bead into the centre.
